As per the Indian Trust Act 1882, a Trust is an arrangement where the owner (trustor) transfers the property to someone else (trustee) for the benefit of a third person (beneficiary).Such a property is transferred by the trustor to the trustee along with a proclamation that the trustee should hold the property for the beneficiaries of the Trust.

Shop & Establishment Registration

Registration is mandatory for all businesses under Shop and Establishment Act (“Act”). This is governed by state legislature and every state government has laid down their own set of rules and regulations for the same. Generally, all shops, hotels, restaurants, place of public amusement, theatres and other commercial establishments require registration under this Act. Shops and establishments coming under the purview of this Act are required to get registered within 30 days from the commencement of such shop or establishment, in form prescribed as per the Act along with applicable fees.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, as an autonomous body. The FSSAI is governed by the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 which regulates standards related to food safety and regulation in India.

It is an obligation for all Food Business Operators (FBO) to acquire FSSAI license or food licenses. FSSAI lays down the standards for the articles of food. Also, the manufacturing, storage, distribution, sale and the import of food articles is regulated by FSSAI in order to ensure the availability of safe and wholesome food to people residing in the country. In addition to the above, FSSAI is also in-charge for spreading awareness and creating information network across the country. It ensures that the public in general receive rapid, reliable and accurate information about the food safety, hygiene and the related issues of importance.

ESIC/PF Registration

Employees’ Provident Fund is a social security scheme that helps employees save a small portion of their salary for future benefits. Every company has to offer its employees an EPF or Employees Provident Fund which is akin to a retirement fund. EPF comes under the purview of the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. EPF registration is mandatory for organizations with total employee strength more than 20.

Employee State Insurance or ESI is a scheme commenced by the Government of India to offer medical, monetary and other advantages to workers. ESI is managed by an autonomous authority – Employee State Insurance Corporation – which lies under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Labour and Employment. By law, any company that has more than 10 employees mandatorily need to have ESI. In some states, the number of employees is 20.
